By doing that, they would be able to move either Ross Stripling or Kenta Maeda to the bullpen and give Kenley Jansen some help in the late innings.Joe Kelly signed a three-year deal before the season but he has been disappointing as a setup man.Maeda and Stripling have both spent time in the bullpen and done so in the postseason as well, so the moment might not be too big for them. Initially it was believed Will Smith would be available from the Giants and possibly Kirby Yates would be for the Padres. Even Brad Hand was a possibility from the Indians.But all three of those teams are firmly entrenched in the wild-card races and don’t appear to be selling those arms anymore. Related News However, both have had struggles there as well so this isn’t a sure thing.So while moving Maeda and Stripling to the pen while adding Stroman to the rotation would be a solution, the Dodgers would almost assuredly prefer to see Scott Oberg of the Rockies come available as well as one of Smith, Yates and Hand.And picking up Stroman will not come without competition. The Astros, Yankees and Mets all have interest in the righty. Fortunately for the Dodgers, they have done their due diligence in scouting other starters.
