first_imgJody BroganTHERE were heartbreaking scenes today at the funeral for tragic fire victims Jody and Anngeline Brogan.Family and friends wept as their coffins were taken to the graveyard at St Columba’s Church in Drumoghill after Requiem Mass where Father Brian Quinn urged mourners to remember the girls and the joy they had brought to the world.Mum-of-one Jodie, 28, and her sister Anngie, who was a 27-year-old mother of three died after fire engulfed their home in Ceannan View, Letterkenny, last Friday morning. Today at their funeral, there heartbroken parents Frankie and Mary and their six brothers and sisters were comforted by a wide circle of family and friends. Hundreds and hundreds of people were there, many forced to stand outside the chapel which was crammed inside.Parish Priest of the Church of the Irish Martyrs Father Brian Quinn said today: “I ask you today to remember Jody and Anngie in your own lives. Remember them as a daughter, a sister, a mother and a friend.“Remember them as people who made a difference. Remember them not in the absolute hell of the housefire in Ceannan View but as they are now in heaven in peace and joy.”Fr Quinn asked mourners to pray for the young women’s parents Frankie and Mary and for their brothers and sisters Frankie, Conor, Christopher, Natasha, Kirsty and Orla.
