Rashid ducked into the 138 kph delivery that slammed into his helmet.Rashid was visibly jolted even as some of the New Zealand players, including captain Kane Williamson, rushed to check on him. The ball ricocheted on the stumps as Rashid walked back to the hut without troubling the scorers.Rashid reportedly failed two concussion tests which have become mandatory in international cricket after a batsman takes a blow on his helmet. The first test was held 45 minutes before the second even as Afghanistan bowlers came out to defend the total.”He has been pulled out as a precaution after being hit on his head while batting,” the International Cricket Council said.Rashid played no further part in Afghanistan’s third match of World Cup 2019 vs New Zealand. However, it is expected he will be available for the remainder of the tournament.Rashid has been Afghanistan’s premier bowler across all formats of the game.
