The two previously worked together on Insidious and The Conjuring films. Considering how often the two work together, it comes as no surprise that Wilson would show up.Wan understands how obvious it was too. Teehee. Here we go. @creepypuppet https://t.co/n06e5bV0kw— patrick wilson (@patrickwilson73) December 12, 2016It’s not a bad choice. It’s just not an obvious one. If we would’ve guessed which villain would appear in the first Aquaman movie, we expected Black Manta, who’s the character’s most famous nemesis. Didn’t also help that TheWrap reported in August that Aquaman would be facing off against Black Manta.Orm is still a formidable threat. He’s Curry’s human half-brother, although how they’re related depends on the DC timeline. Sometimes he’s a pirate and sometimes he’s made a deal with a demon for a powerful mystic trident. Considering Warner Bros.’ previous decisions in regards to tone and realism in its DC films, we can deduce they’re probably not going to go for the latter. Either way, we can expect something like a Thor/Loki rivalry for the DCEU. Let’s just hope it isn’t exactly like that.Interestingly, Wilson has already appeared in the DCEU. He provided the voice for the President of the United States in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since we never saw his face, we assume that continuity won’t be completely ruined with the casting.Aquaman also stars Amber Heard as Mera and Willem Dafoe as Vulko. It’ll crash into theaters on July 27, 2018.last_img
