Kolkata: Twenty five West Bengal Civil Service (Exe) officers will be sent for in-service training for two weeks to Singapore.The training will be held in two phases. The first and the domestic phase of the training will be held in Haryana while the second part of the same will take place abroad in Singapore. The state government will be bearing all the expenses in connection with the training, logistics, accommodation, airfare, and the like for both the domestic and foreign trips. Also Read – Rain batters Kolkata, cripples normal lifeIt has been stated in a notice of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms and e-governance department dated October 30 that “all officers belonging to WBCS (Exe) who have completed/will complete 20 years of continuous and satisfactory service as on January 1 in 2019, and will superannuate beyond June 6 in 2022, may apply, in writing to the Principal Secretary of the department, within December 15 in 2018” with relevant information. The domestic part of the training will be held at OP Jindal Global University (OPJGU) at Sonipat in Haryana. It will be held from February 18 to 22 in 2019 while the second part of the training will take place from February 25 to March 1 in 2019. The officers will be leaving Kolkata on November 18 and will return only after their training programme in Singapore. It may be recalled that 25 officers of eight constituted state services including West Bengal Revenue Service, West Bengal Audit and Accounts Service, West Bengal Food and Supplies Service, West Bengal Employment Service, West Bengal Co-operative Service, West Bengal Labour Service, West Bengal Information and Cultural Service and West Bengal Forest Service will be sent for in-service training on Public Finance Management.
